Together, they foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity, ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our customers.

David Gallagher

Chief Executive Officer

David was appointed CEO in February 2010 having held a number of roles within the TR business.

These roles included Branch Manager, Marketing Manager and Director of Operations. Prior to joining TR, David worked as Export Manager for Recoil Pty Ltd., an Advent Private Capital investee company. The role covered North Asia (including China) South East Asia and the subcontinent, including branch responsibility in Singapore and Thailand.

David also worked for Davey Products as Export Manager. This role covered the South Pacific, South East Asia and Southern Africa.

Gavan McColl

Chief Financial Officer

Gavan has been CFO of the TR Group since August 2010.

Gavan has held a number of senior finance roles within public and private companies including as CFO of AH Plant Hire for 11 years (originally part of Nylex Ltd and now part of Coates Hire), Kent Moving & Storage, ANL Shipping & Logistics and Impact Fertilisers. Prior to this Gavan worked for a number of years as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG Melbourne and in London.

Gavan holds a Bachelor of Economics and Accounting from Monash University, is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the TR Board.

Dennis Banfield

General Manager at TechRentals (Test & Measurement)

Dennis joined the TechRentals team in 2015 as General Manager with extensive senior executive experience across a range of areas. His background has included time in sales, wholesale, retail, network development, and franchising. In the 15 years prior to his latest appointment, Dennis has held key senior roles with firms such as API, Blockbuster Australia & New Zealand, Dick Smith Electronics, and Iridium.

Dennis has been recognised for his wealth of experience, professional achievements, and positive impact within the community; culminating with invitations to be a member of the Starlight Children’s Foundations Victorian Advisory Board, as well as a current Australia Day Victoria Ambassador.

Paul Di Pasquale

General Manager at TechRentals (Communications & Safety)

Paul began his working career at Ansett Airlines within the accounts department, from there moving to the construction industry where he was given opportunity to own and operate a fleet of trucks within the industry.

In 1998 Paul joined Breakthrough Communications a Premium Dealer of Motorola Two Way Radio communications as a sales representative. Paul demonstrated great drive and enthusiasm, excelling in all facets of sales and rental solutions to a large array of verticals within the market place. This resulted in many top sales awards from Motorola during that time.

In 2003 Breakthrough Communications was acquired by Bearcom U.S.A, and not long after, Paul was promoted to Victorian Sales Manager. The business was then acquired by TechRentals where Paul remained as Victorian Sales Manager until he was promoted to General Manager. During his tenure the business has grown to be the largest provider of two way radio communications rental in Australia.

Satchi Veloo

General Manager TechRentals Malaysia

Satchi graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from Multimedia University (Cyberjaya, Malaysia). This led him into the Telecommunications field, working for Maxis Sdn Bhd and DIGI Sdn Bhd. In 2001, Satchi joined TechRentals and has held a number of roles within the business. Satchi gained experience as a Sales Engineer, Marketing and Sales Manager and was heavily involved in IT infrastructure.

In 2010, Satchi was elevated to his current role as Malaysian General Manager where he oversees the business operations of Southeast Asia.

John Thurston

General Manager

John joined the TR Group in March 2007 in a finance role, but was then appointed TR New Zealand General Manager 2 months later. Following a Group restructure John purchased one of the TR Divisions, TechRentals NZ, in late 2009. After John owning this for 7 years TR acquired the business back and he has remained as it’s General Manager. Prior to that John was the Managing Director of APS Specialty Chemicals NZ, a multi-divisional business comprising Chemicals, Plastics, Specialties, Valvemaster, Machinery and Paper/Aluminium Foil Divisions. John was previously their Finance Manager and before that spent 7 years with a Chartered Accountancy firm.

Leonie Phillips

General Manager

Leonie Phillips joined Vidcom in 2015, bringing over 15 years of experience in theatre management and audio-visual event production in the USA. Initially serving as the Auckland Branch Operations Manager, she was promoted to Auckland Branch Manager after five years, navigating the team through challenging times in the event industry. In addition to her role in Auckland, Leonie has successfully managed the Hamilton Branch for the past three years and played a crucial role in establishing and managing Vidcom’s Rotorua Branch. Leonie completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management in early 2024 and was subsequently appointed General Manager of Vidcom New Zealand.

Sally-Anne Benoiton

Head of Marketing Asia Pacific

Sally-Anne joined TR in 2023 as the Head of Marketing for the APAC region, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. Having previously worked for TR in the marketing department many years ago, she possesses deep insights and familiarity with the company's operations and culture. With senior experience in marketing roles across various sectors including legal, scientific, wholesale, software, retail, and hardware, Sally-Anne has demonstrated her versatility and adaptability in diverse industries. She holds certifications in continuous improvement using the Lean Business Systems method, and she is a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM) with the Australian Marketing Institute. Sally-Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations at Monash University. Sally-Anne's strategic vision and dedication to excellence makes her a strong leader in the marketing field.
